FAQ
Questions, answered.
How accurate are FIMIT's measurements?
Captures use Apple's LiDAR + RoomPlan, typically accurate to within a few centimetres in good conditions — results vary with the room, its surfaces and capture technique. FIMIT also characterises the accuracy of each scan so you know how much to trust every number.
Can FIMIT create 2D floor plans?
Yes. Every scan produces a clean, to-scale 2D floor plan alongside the 3D model — ideal for real-estate listings, as-built drawings and sharing with contractors.
What device do I need to capture a space?
An iPhone or iPad Pro with LiDAR. No tripods, rigs or specialist scanners — you simply walk through the space.
Is FIMIT good for real-estate floor plans?
Yes — it's built for it. Estate agents use FIMIT to publish accurate floor plans and interactive 3D tours for listings, with floor areas you can stand behind.
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union, with per-organisation isolation and full GDPR support, including the right to be forgotten — built in from day one.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Every new account starts on the Free plan — no credit card required. It includes 1 project, 3 scans and 1 user seat: capture with the iPhone app, view every scan in 3D and 2D on the web dashboard, and share it with a public link. Paid plans from €39/mo add PDF reports, CAD and 3D exports, plan editing and calibration.
Can I export the models and floor plans?
Yes. 3D models and 2D floor plans can be viewed and measured from the web dashboard on every plan, including the Free plan. PDF reports are included on all paid plans, and 3D model (USDZ/GLB), DXF, CSV and JSON exports come with the higher tiers.
How long does a scan take?
Most rooms take under five minutes to capture, and the 3D model and floor plan are generated automatically within minutes.
Can I check and improve a scan’s accuracy?
Yes. FIMIT's Calibrate-a-Scan lets you enter a few real-world reference measurements and fits a size-weighted correction factor — with a confidence score and automatic outlier flagging — so your measurements and exports are more accurate. It's fully reversible: the underlying geometry is never altered.
