How Often Should You Re-Survey a Building?

The traditional answer to "how often should we re-survey?" was "as rarely as possible", because a measured survey was slow and costly. That framing is backwards. You should update a building record whenever the building changes — and the reason teams did not is simply that re-surveying used to be too expensive to do that often.
